Individuals with HIV have a higher incidence of nonmelanoma skin cancer and melanoma.1,2 Melanoma mortality is increased in people with HIV.1 Individuals with a CD4 count below 200 cells/mm3 or a lack of sustained viral suppression have an increased the risk of oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma.3 The prevalence of Merkel cell polyomavirus DNA in the skin is increased in men with HIV and is thought to be the cause of the increased incidence of Merkel cell carcinoma in people with HIV.4,5

EBV-positive mucocutaneous ulcer of the oral cavity has been reported in association with HIV.13
