Penile acne
Penile acne
Clinical features This is not an entity that is well recognized in the literature, but it is occasionally encountered in clinical practice. Young men complain of spots, boils, or blackheads, and on examination have comedones, papules, pustules, inflammatory nodules, and scars of the proximal penile shaft (Figs 12.67 and 12.68). An important differential diagnosis of acneform disease presenting at any site is chloracne, due to occlusion of the skin with machine oil.
Histologic features The histology is identical to that of acne at classical sites.
